我不是自由的吗。我不是使徒吗。我不是见过我们的主耶稣吗。你们不是我在主里面所作之工吗。
Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
我对那磐问我的人，就是这样分诉。
Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
难道我们没有权柄娶信主的姊妹为妻，带着一同往来，彷佛其馀的使徒，和主的弟兄，并矶法一样吗。
Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
独有我与巴拿巴没有权柄不作工吗。
Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?
就如摩西的律法记着说，牛在场上踹谷的时候，不可笼住它的嘴。难道神所挂念的是牛吗。
For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
我若甘心作这事，就有赏赐。若不甘心，责任却已经托付我了。
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
既是这样，我的赏赐是什么呢。就是我传福音的时候，叫人不花钱得福音，免得用尽我传福音的权柄。
What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
向没有律法的人，我就作没有律法的人，为要得没有律法的人。其实我在神面前，不是没有律法，在基督面前，正在律法之下。
To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
向软弱的人，我就作软弱的人，为要得软弱的人。向什么样的人，我就作什么样的人。无论如何，总要救些人。
To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
凡我所行的，都是为福音的缘故，为要与人同的这福音的好处。
And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
